Cannot update the chinesepod list

eulertj   February 5th, 2013 3:05p.m.

I tried to update my untagged list from Chinesepod, but it still showed as already finished list. Any suggestion?

Sometimes they get stuck, especially ones synced from ChinesePod like this. It does look like all the words from it have been added--are there actual new ones in there you haven't seen?

Anyway, here's how to reset it to make sure you've got everything. Go to the list: http://www.skritter.com/vocab/list?list=agtzfndyaXRlLXdheXIWCxINVm9jYWJMaXN0SW5mbxjviLt6DA

Click "Change Study Settings". Change it to "Add", then save changes.

I've had the same problem for about a week. I keep adding words to my MDBG account from the MDBG website. If I go to the list it shows as words that have not been added. However, on the main list it shows as 100% complete.

I went to the list and "change study settings" / "add" and it worked. Thanks for the info!

Nope, it seems to stuck at Scanning forever. Any ideas?

It still looks to me like your untagged list has already had every word added from it. Are you saying that there are new words on the ChinesePod end that didn't make it into the untagged list on Skritter?

eulertj   February 8th, 2013 4:30a.m.

Thank you Nick. Yes i have added more words in Chinesepod, but cannot update the untagged list.

eulertj   February 15th, 2013 6:02p.m.

No answer???? I still have the problem!

nick   February 16th, 2013 1:17a.m.

We'll check it out as soon as we can, eulertj, but we're all on the road right now and haven't had time to check it out yet.

In the meantime, what happens if you create a new label for the words on the ChinesePod end--does that label get synced to Skritter?

eulertj   February 16th, 2013 7:00p.m.

Sorry I do not quite get what you mean. So did you mean changing a "untagged" list name to another or sth?

nick   February 17th, 2013 10:09a.m.

In ChinesePod's vocab manager, you can create a new label and add all your existing words to it. The hope is that it would then import all the new words under the new label. If it does that, we can assume it's some bug with the list on our side. If it doesn't, it's probably some bug with our import process itself.

ChinesePod labels only download the first 100 for a given label. I'll add it to the list of things to do to tweak the system to allow for larger label lists. In the meantime, as Nick suggested, splitting the label down into multiple labels will allow you to download them entirely. Sorry for the inconvenience!
