Phone version suddenly doesnt work???

DaXia   June 4th, 2011 2:50a.m.

I dunno what has happened but suddenly skritter wont work on my phone (samsung galaxy s). Pinyin, definition, example sentence and all that used to show over the square where you write the character, but now it suddenly shows at the right side, I.E. "under" (not below it, I mean that the square is on top of the text) the square, meaning you cant see it correctly. I have tried restarting my phone, logging in and out and looking through all the settings, still cant figure out whats wrong. I also checked the blog and it's really weird since you haven't announced any changes either. Worked perfectly yesterday.

Ditto, I'm seeing the same thing. I event tried directly linking to

http://www.skritter.com/study/all?android=true

but it still doesn't display properly on my galaxy.

Have the same problem on my HTC. Anyone figure out how to fix it? Must be either a flash or skritter tweaked something

mcfarljw   June 4th, 2011 4:53a.m.

Yeh, Nick said in another post he uploaded a lot of changes today.

scott   June 4th, 2011 9:32a.m.

Yeah we've got a handful of bugs from the latest code changes it looks like. I reverted to an older version for now while we iron out these things. Sorry for the difficulties!

nick   June 4th, 2011 2:38p.m.

Before I fix and put back the new system for Android user-agent detection, I'd love it if you guys could all post your user agent strings here so I can debug the detection for them:

I think there is still a problem. On android the flash window is normally maximized, but now I sometimes see the entire web pagek in the smallest possible resolution and it seems to be stuck there. The only solution this morning seems to be to back out of the page and reload.

nick   June 6th, 2011 12:45p.m.

Okay, round two for this is going up soon. Please, if it doesn't display correctly on your Android device, I need you to send me three things:

1) The user agent string from http://whatsmyuseragent.com/
2) The resolution of the device (ex: 480x800)
3) A screenshot, photo, or very detailed description of what the layout is looking like.

Thanks guys. Once this is figured out, I'll be able to make better layouts for the various screen sizes.

jww1066   June 6th, 2011 1:53p.m.

@nick: On the Nexus One, the background of the Flash writing area is hiding the prompt text on the right. This happens no matter what zoom level I use. This is for user agent

Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.3.4; en-us; Nexus One Build/GRJ22) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1

The resolution is 480×800 px 254 ppi.

The Galaxy tablet has the exact same problem. User agent is

Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.2; en-us; SGH-T849 Build/FROYO) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1

The resolution is 600 x 1024 px.
