Skritter Crashing on Ipad Mini

James Andrews   January 6th, 2013 1:50a.m.

Today I was attempting to study one of my lists (Boya Chinese Pre-intermediate I) and whilst adding the new words, Skritter crashed. Now everytime I open Skritter it crashes after a few seconds. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

A long time ago (iPad 3), I deleted Skritter, reinstalled and resynced and it worked fine after that.

I haven't had that problem on my iPad mini, but I did have a similar problem. I deleted local data and re-synced, then it was fine. Or like lechuan said you could just delete and re-install.

while we're on this topic, I have a related question I want to ask.

If the price of the new Ipad and Ipad-mini were the same, which would be the one you'd recommend for using Skritter? Considering things like: memory, size, comfort on the eyes, battery, being able to view features possibly unavailable on the smaller device, etc.

James, best do as lechuan suggests.

Bohan,

Not in relation to Skritter, but I wasn't impressed with the ipad mini for Chinese text. Full sized ipad is better - but large and heavy.

I'm going to wait for a lighter/less bezel'd ipad 5. Or a mini with retina...

+1 to Byzanti. If I was dying for a mobile device, I'd get the iPad mini. I went to a store and downloaded Skritter on one of the show room iPad minis, and it was so fun to use. The mini is light in your hand. They really hit the sweet spot with the mini.

However, I am addicted to my iphone retina display, and can't see myself shelling out $300+ without having retina.

The full size ipad is just too heavy for extended use. It's ok for 30 minutes, but any longer and it's no good.
