How can I temporarily do a sequential run through all my words?

Mazer80   June 3rd, 2014 5:19p.m.

Hello there!

Skritter and spaced repetition are really awesome. But for my own ease of mind, the day before a Chinese test I like to sequentially review all of the characters that I'm supposed to know. Just to touch base with them and reassure myself that I actually do know them all, and to catch any old ones that I started to forget but aren't up for review in Skritter.

Is there any way to easily do this with skritter (without copying all manually to the scratchpad?)

Thanks!
Dieter

There is no easy way to do this with Skritter. The easiest solution is to export all of your words using the Skritter website and then put them into Anki or Pleco or some other flashcard program.

Bummer! I need it for my peace of mind :)

Is there any place to request features for Skritter?

DependableSkeleton   June 4th, 2014 9:22p.m.

From time to time people request this sort of feature. I am curious, however, why you don't take my advice to use another piece of software to solve your problem. Forcing an SRS to work in a non-SRS way doesn't seem like a natural thing to do.

This is the first time I've seen this kind of request in a couple of years.

We're a pretty small team, and are rather preoccupied with working on the Android version, so scratchpad is your best bet for now--all it takes is a simple copy/paste, after all!

Re: DependableSkeleton

I've used Pleco before Skritter, it's actually pretty good, it's certainly an option. The reason i don't prefer that solution is because Skritter will not know about the progress I make during those reviews, I would prefer Skritter's awesome interface :), and it's a bit of a hassle to be importing exporting & importing stuff.

Re: Evan
I'm in Software Development myself, so I totally understand the need to concentrate your scarce resources on major goals :)

I can't find an easy to export and copy/paste, export to Excel is ok, but then import into scratchpad seems limited to 200 characters. Could you point me in the right direction? maybe i'm missing something simple.

Thx for the response! Skritter is awesome :)

dverlaeckt, importing & exporting is a bit of a hassle, but I think your first point about Skritter not knowing about your reviews is not really a big issue. If you review an item really early and get it correct (most of your items will be like this) then Skritter won't pay much attention to the fact that you remembered it.

On the other hand, if you get it wrong in Skritter really early, then Skritter would pay attention...

The feature isn't there, end of story. I can live with it :)
