font problem on Kindle Fire

jww1066   December 3rd, 2011 10:33a.m.

Sorry I can't send a screenshot. The Kindle Fire seems to have a problem with the "seal" radical variant, which doesn't show up in the prompt area or in the Flash.

That makes sense--variants like those are often not included in some fonts. Please practice on the beta site with it so I can see which fonts are available. (Probably not many.)

Hmmm, my previous comment seems to have vanished. Anyway, I practiced on the beta site for a while around noon Eastern time, but didn't run across the character. The character is ⺋, by the way.

For some reason the Kindle doesn't make it easy to take screenshots (unlike the Galaxy), very annoying.

How's the native Android app going? ;)

Oops, I had the logging compiled, but not uploaded. Please give it another shot.

Native Android app is going awesomely, of course. We're totally rocking at putting it off while focusing on the iOS app. ;) I think having the iOS app solid will help inform the design of the Android one, so with any luck, it'll be less work the next time.

Listo!

Changed to requesting a different font. Try again now:

I studied using that link just now, same behavior.

I don't think it's going to work, then. Prepare yourself for the awesome smörgåsbord of fonts available on Android:

mono
sans
sans-bold
serif
serif-bold
serif-bold-italic
serif-italic

So basically three. I'm trying the third one now (mono), but I'm guessing it won't work, and then it'll just have to be that certain characters don't display.

No, todavía no sirve. ¡Malditas fuentes!
