Sentences in Traditional

Hi!
I'm studying both simplified and traditional characters. When a word pops up where there is no difference between the two, the example sentence is shown in simplified characters. Can I set the characters to traditional by default while studying both?

Amen!

We would need an extra account setting in order to do things like this, which seems not useful enough to include--settings are very costly. How big of a deal is this?

Schnabelhund   May 15th, 2012 1:39a.m.

Not very big, I guess. If it's too much work, I'd rather have you focused on the Android app ;)
How about you, jww?

Another thing though; when I want to edit a list and there is a word with partial difference between Simplified and Traditional, it is displayed like this:

明显 [-顯]

The same goes for what I see after I click the magnifying glass (to get more info on this word). I'd really like to see the whole word in Traditional rather than just the parts that are different, like this:

明显 [明顯]

This way I wouldn't have to see abominations like

自动取款机 [-動--機]
特别行政区 [-別--區]
学科能力测验 [學---測驗]

How about this?

But it would be even longer! Are you saying that you would be happy if it were the simplified and not traditional which was hyphenated?

Schnabelhund   May 15th, 2012 2:27p.m.

Hm, that would be an improvement for me, but not for the fellow users who focus more on simplified characters. If the words are too long, can you perhaps stack the words instead of having them in one line; like

自动取款机
自動取款機

特别行政区
特別行政區

and so on?

Might be a good solution. Will certainly keep that in mind for when we next iterate the design of the word popup!

For me this falls into the "irritating but not essential" category.

Thank you, Nick :)
