Unable to study Misc list

junglegirl   August 20th, 2011 3:30a.m.

So I now have this new Miscellaneous list, to which I added some random words (22 to be exact) as I would have to the queue. When I went back a couple hours later to study, the list was marked as finished, but I haven't even started it! I tried going into the list and clicking "Study List" from there, but it says "you don't have enough words selected to study", even though there are way more than four characters in the list. I'm confused?

junglegirl   August 20th, 2011 4:16a.m.

I just made a remix of the list (without actually changing anything in it) and was able to study that. The original Misc. list still says "finished" though.

It's a bug with the list when you first add to it and it hasn't been studied yet. I fixed your list and am working to fix the underlying issue and other peoples' lists that will have been affected by the same bug. All this will be resolved shortly, and it should be fine for you now junglegirl. If anyone else wants to have this fixed right away, simply go to the list page itself and set the study settings to begin on that first section.

Thanks for the report!

All done. All the other lists affected by this bug have been fixed. Let me know if this is still a lingering problem for anyone.

Hi, I can't study my Misc list either. It just gets stuck loading. When words from my Misc list appear when I'm studying all words, the readings come up in roman script which looks like code instead of in hiragana, and sometimes the reading is Chinese rather than Japanese.

Thanks Scott, all good for me now.

I fixed the bug redlimpet found, which was also affecting other Japanese users as well. If anyone has any similar problems let me know!

My Zhongwen list seems still stuck like this.

ジェレミー (Jeremy)   August 25th, 2011 2:43a.m.

my old queue and misc list says they are finished too
only words from the bookmarklet list are being added (it says, although i dont know),
theres a few other lists "made by me" that don't show up in the study tab

wispfrog   August 25th, 2011 1:59p.m.

Looks like one can get around the study list button not working by using the 'change study settings' pop-up instead. I think mine is now going to add ok.

scott   August 25th, 2011 2:20p.m.

@wispfrog: I think this was due to the lingering effects of a fixed bug. It shouldn't happen again and I fixed that list for you so it will start from the beginning.

@グリッチ: The same; I believe that's from a bug that happened before. Those lists should be fine, and the two that don't show up in your studies don't because they're not activated. Should they be? To study a list, go to the list and click 'study list' and it will appear in the lists that you are studying.

d'oh, they aren't activated. the other lists are good now, thank you :)
