手 Hand shou3 Radical 64

I cannot generate扌with MS PY and google translate gives shou no accent as ROLLING

As I study, I use http://nciku.com
to test my drawing and stroke order and I record the pinyin, definition and radical # in a Word 2007 document using MS Pinyin input method. I highlight in red anything like this where I cannot generate the given character and I make note of what http://translate.google.com gives for the character.

Not complaining mind you, just curious about differences.

I have started my studies with the radicals so I can build a foundation of understanding and I try to spot the radical in each new character.

The reason is that 扌 is never used alone, only as a radical in other characters. So there is no reason you would normally write it as such, and that's why it doesn't show up as an option in MS pinyin!

Thank you so much Byzanti! Of course! Why didn't I realize that some radicals never appear by themselves but only as part of some other character! This is a very important realization.
