Import of Lazy Kanji method

Ralufu   May 5th, 2013 8:55a.m.

I would like to import this vocabulary list from ANKI that contains mnemomics in the following format.

左The ___ SIDE of the body is considered sinister, and the source of hexes and other dark CRAFTS. left

右The MOUTH on the ___-hand SIDE was the most vocal. right

What I want skritter to do is to ask me the mnemonic plus the keyword as question to give the writing of the character as answer. It would be nice if skritter added the reading also somehow. Is it possibel to do such an list import to skritter?
best regards,
Ralf

If you want them to be shown as part of the prompt, then you need to get them into the custom definition fields instead of the custom mnemonics fields. With Heisig keywords turned on in your account settings, what it would look like this (stars indicating boldness):

__
サ, ひだり
*Left*: The ___ SIDE of the body is considered sinister, and the source of hexes and other dark CRAFTS.

Then you would write the character 左.

So if they have underscores blanking out the keyword in the Anki export, then it'll look a bit weird with those redundant underscores, but it'll do what you want (I think). If the formatting is exactly standard (always four underscores in the export), I can replace them with the keyword in your finished custom definition.

Just email the Anki export to me at nick@skritter.com and I'll run a script to upload the custom definitions for you. You will have to separately create a vocab list that includes the kanji you want to study--are you going through RTK in the Heisig order, or is it something else?
