Good Chinese Dictionary for Kindle (Paperwhite)

Herakles   May 19th, 2013 10:27a.m.

Hi everyone,

I love the mouse-over dictionary on my kindle but I'm so unhappy with the CEDICT as it only translates words one to one without any useful information.

Does anyone know of a dictionary for the kindle that competes with what I'm used to from the Oxford American English Dict.?
It could be Chinese-English or Chinese-German; Price is not an issue.

Although my Chinese isn't there yet, I'd also welcome Chinese-Chinese suggestions (esp. if traditional characters)

Thanks for sharing your wisdom =)

I too am looking for a Chinese dictionary for my kindle paperwhite. I couldn't find anything so I created a press to lookup dictionary based on cc-cedict. You can touch a character or press and select multiple characters for definition look up in a Chinese document. Did you already find a dictionary that can do that? Anyway here's the file I created so far, just upload to your kindle and it will be recognised as a dictionary. I used instructions here,

and also had to hack the cc-cedict file from mdbg into two columns for the process to work.
I know you said you didn't like the cedict, just wasn't sure whether you were able to lookup words from within a document.

Here's the file anyway, in case you want to give it a try. Just traditional characters so far.
