Looks like the Great Firewall or something like it is preventing you from completely loading www.skritter.com because it is hosted on Google App Engine, which is periodically blocked. Try instead our mirror:

legacy.skritter.cn

This might also be caused by an internet filter, such as SafeEyes. If you have such a filter installed, try adding appspot.com to the list of allowed domains.

Skritter does not work in Windows Server 2012

范博涵   June 19th, 2012 6:33p.m.

Skritter does not work in Internet Explorer 10 in Windows Server 2012, in either Metro or Desktop mode. The area where the Flash writing area and buttons are supposed to be shown is simply white. I believe it has been writen elsewhere that in Windows 8 Skritter does not work in Metro mode but does work in Desktop mode.

The Skritter team could troubleshoot this by downloading and installing the Windows Server 2012 Release Candidate: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/server-cloud/windows-server/2012-default.aspx.

Does anyone still uses Internet Explorer??? ;D

范博涵   June 20th, 2012 4:39a.m.

I generally try to avoid it and installing Google Chrome is a quick workaround. However, it is the default browser in Windows Server 2012 and Windows 8 and as such might be problematic for the Skritter team.

We tested it in the release candidate for Windows 8, and it worked fine in Desktop mode. Just checked, it still does. We're working on getting onto the whitelist for Metro mode so that works too. Is anyone else using the latest consumer Windows having issues? And also, what version of flash are you running on Windows Server 2012?

Do people use Windows Server for this sort of thing, in addition to as a server?

Yeah, lots of people still use IE, although they probably shouldn't:

Nick, I do. During Windows Server 2012 training at work. All of the machines in our training room will probably continue to have Windows Server 2012. In Windows Server 2008 R2, Internet Explorer worked liked a charm. I just installed Google Chrome this time around, but they re-image the machines on a regular basis.

Think of all the Windows Server 2012 system administrators around the world who will not be able to Skritter while having to wait for the result of menial tasks. ;-)

I just tried disabling IE ESC, lowering the security for the Internet zone and adding skritter.com to the Trusted zone, but to no avail.

I swear that "blank space" definition is just a coincidence. I have not been creative with image editing software. :)

I think you should watch this forum thread:

Looks like Flash is having trouble in general on the server software. Does anything else Flash related work on that machine?
