Sync Problem

Daniel   March 4th, 2013 1:36a.m.

When syncing to an iOS device it stays stuck on 0/0. Its a recent problem, started yesterday as far as I'm aware. I can't sync on my iPad or iPhone. Any ideas?

Tommaso Minnetti   March 4th, 2013 3:13a.m.

Same here. Never had such issue before. Could it be something on server side? The app hasn't been updated recently as far as I know.

Bohan   March 4th, 2013 7:02a.m.

yeah, mine too

Bohan   March 4th, 2013 7:36a.m.

It seems a bit worse now. Yesterday it would take two or three minutes to sync. Now it won't start even after 7/8 minutes

Tommaso Minnetti   March 4th, 2013 8:01a.m.

Mine seems to be back to normal. It might have been an hardware issue on the servers - I'm happy to see it was solved so quickly!

I've found lately that this happens with the wifi at my office, but not with other connections.

snowcreature99   March 4th, 2013 4:36p.m.

I've seen a lot of this recently. Started sometime last week.

I use an iPad and an iPhone, and the problem appears when I use whichever device that I haven't used for a while.

For example, I go to use Skritter on the iPad after having used it on the iPhone a couple times during the afternoon.

At that point the device generally gets caught at Sync: Counting 0/0 for several minutes.

Sync logs always show something along the lines of:
Request fail - retry
Failed - sync error
Sync interrupted
Request fail - retry
Failed - sync error
Sync interrupted
Abort - try again
Sync interrupted
Success 98D / 0U

The other device (used more recently) will sync just fine. It does not matter what network (wifi or cellular) the devices are connected to, or whether they're on the same network.

The behavior comes back even if I clear local data and start fresh on the client side. (That said, have not tried actually deleting and reinstalling.)

So just guessing it's a back-end issue.

I've just noticed the same problem, this is on a new phone and because the data won't sync I can't study!

Scott has found and fixed an error on the backend that might have been related to this, so perhaps y'all can try again and see if it's working any better for you now.

snowcreature99   March 5th, 2013 11:24p.m.

All normal for me today, no problems. Looking fixed so far.

Bohan   March 6th, 2013 3:47a.m.

I just sank my itouch, and it says success , but the site isn't showing my progress. It's about 30 minutes worth

danielbyron   March 6th, 2013 10:33p.m.

Everything seems to be back to normal, Thanks
