make sure those of you who use bamboo install the wacom plugin - go into settings to get it, makes a massive difference, so much better

Wow, it's back! I thought they had discontinued it, but now even the old link has been redirected to the new page.

I'll have to try it once I get back today to see whether it's been updated enough to work reliably on Mac.

Thanks for the heads up, Matt!

GrandPoohBlah   July 27th, 2011 10:49p.m.

I'm using a Wacom (Intuos, not Bamboo, but that's not important) and Skritter automagically has become sensitive to pen pressure, even though I haven't installed the plugin.

I'll download the plugin and see if it changes anything.

edit: after downloading and installing the plugin and enabling it in the settings, I don't see any changes. Maybe the plugin really only affects Bamboo users?

Still doesn't work on my Mac, alas. At least the Windows one is going again.

chinajustin   July 29th, 2011 2:44a.m.

Sooo, obviously I'm missing it somewhere... where do you get this plug-in at? Is it just part of the driver software I already have installed, or is this some other magical piece of software?

You also have to enable it in your Skritter settings while studying (the gear in the upper right of the study page).

sonorier   July 31st, 2011 7:01a.m.

when i use the plugin though, the tablet area vs screen area settings become useless. They are still the same in the bamboo setup screen but in reality i can only use 100% vs 100%. Anyone know of a way to get around this? I cannot write over such a big area. It's like painting.

aharlekyn   August 2nd, 2011 10:05a.m.

When I try to install the pluging (Win 7 and Chrome, I get an error:

Error Opening file for writing: The file it cant open is the npwacom.dll

Any advise?

nick   August 2nd, 2011 12:26p.m.

Does it still give you that message if you try it with your browser closed, or after you restart your computer?

aharlekyn   August 2nd, 2011 1:17p.m.

Nope, Thanks!

One more problem though. When I go to Bamboo Preferences to set the placement on the screen and click on "Advance" or "Details" I get Windows Message:

"Control panel for consumer driver has stopped working - Windows can check online for solution." Yea right...

So far I love my tablet!!!

bakermaker   August 3rd, 2011 12:34p.m.

Hmm, mozilla/tablet seems to be working fine for, but for one (non?)-problem. When i open skritter study i get a message that says 'additional plugins are required to display all the media on this page'. when i click 'install missing plugins' it says 'no suitable plugins were found'. sometimes it has a 'manual install' button that takes me to the download page for the wacom plugin mentioned in this thread. but i've already downloaded that. might i have not set it up correctly? it could be some simple mistake on my part, as i just got my first mac computer and i haven't had time to really get to know it, i was too excited to start skrittering again.

Byzanti   August 3rd, 2011 2:03p.m.

The Wacom plugin for mac doesn't work. So if that's the issue, just turn off using it in the practice page settings.

bakermaker   August 5th, 2011 11:14a.m.

cool. thanks Byzanti
