Adding lists from Chinese Pod not working?

hal9000   July 15th, 2010 4:52a.m.

for about 2 weeks now I always get a "Zaogao!" message on this page
http://www.skritter.com/vocab/chinesepod
when I click the ChinesePod icon to add a word list.

Is this a known issue?
Thanks, Hal

hm. If you go to this link (or via vocab page) http://www.skritter.com/vocab/cpod you don't get the zaogao message. However, I'm now logged out, and Skritter doesn't want to accept my login...

mm, I also can't log in from that page - the error is "ChinesePod timed out", but I am logged into the ChinesePod website with no problems.

Something changed with their login API or some such today. We'll see about a fix.

Thank you, because I couldn't get into ChinesePod this evening either.

All fixed!

mmm, still get the "zaogao" error when I click on the ChinesePod Lessons icon on the page:
http://www.skritter.com/practice

Byzanti   July 18th, 2010 11:27a.m.

What chinesepod lesson icon? The one on the vocab page links to http://www.skritter.com/vocab/cpod (not /chinesepod), and is right...

nick   July 18th, 2010 1:25p.m.

Ah, I see. The link is just wrong on the practice navigation page. I will change it.

jcdoss   July 18th, 2010 6:53p.m.

I'm having issues with only traditional characters being added when I cram a list. OK, I admit... being new to ChinesePod, I started w/Newbie Intro 1, but since I'm actually a newbie and there was one or two vocab words there I didn't have, I guess it was appropriate.

Anyway, it doesn't add simplified characters to study, and I also couldn't get it to export simplified characters earlier today.

That was a bug on the site this weekend that Scott just fixed, not specific to ChinesePod. If his script doesn't take care of it automatically, set yourself to the beginning of each lesson you were adding from since Friday. It was trying to add the traditional versions instead, which then weren't study. If you go through it again you'll now pick up the simplified versions.

Sorry to report that I'm still not getting simplified words/characters to show up in the practice menu. I've tried re-starting lists and removing and re-adding them to no avail.

Sorry, the bug fix wasn't quite live yet. Give it one more go.
