Problems with Android 4.04

Keizer   October 28th, 2012 4:50a.m.

My phone and my Tablet updated to Android 4.04. Now Skritter does not work anymore. The screen shows a little red Lego Brick :-((((

meridian   October 28th, 2012 3:17p.m.

I think the newer version of Android no longer use Flash. That's why Skritter won't work until they make it work on HTML 5.

Keizer   October 28th, 2012 3:32p.m.

yep, I discovered this today myself, reading the Forum. It is a real shame, I loose all my hours on airports and trains, that I used to train with Skritter!!

If you do a google search, you should find ways to install flash on Android 4.04.

Hey guys, all you have to do is download flash at the link provided by russel and then go here www.skritter.com/study/all?android=true

Keizer   November 4th, 2012 7:29a.m.

perfect! works

Jeremy Peterson   November 20th, 2012 10:59p.m.

This isn't working for me still. I'm using a Galaxy Tab 10.1 and I'm getting nowhere with this. Trying to install Flash Player 10.3 which seems to be the one I need. Will there be some solution to this in the future?

russell359   November 20th, 2012 11:01p.m.

Jeremy P, can you describe the steps you have taken to make this work, that didn't work for you?

Jeremy Peterson   November 21st, 2012 9:17a.m.

Yes I followed the links provided and downloaded/installed the latest update, then found I might want to try 10.3, so I downloaded/installed that as well. When I go back into Skritter, it still says I need to install the flash player. Neither worked so I'm not sure what to do.

russell359   November 21st, 2012 9:42a.m.

Jeremy P, why not 11.1? http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/installers/archive/android/11.1.111.24/install_flash_player_pre_ics.apk

why try an earlier version?

I'm guessing you're still on Android 3, Honeycomb (since you choose 10.3 which is for Android3)? or did you upgrade to ICS Android 4? if you're on Android 4, then you need to install the one linked to above. (since this thread is about Android 4 not 3).

Jeremy Peterson   November 21st, 2012 4:33p.m.

Woo hoo! It works. Found out I'm actually running 4.0.4. Thanks!

Lasse   February 6th, 2013 4:53p.m.

It worked for me - finally - the above suggestions of russell359 and Explorer87's, plus a little extra.

The extra being that you have to go to the native browser > settings > advanced > "enable flash and plugins", and actually switch it to on or on demand. I guess that step was a bit too obvious for many, but it actually took me hours (~_~;)

windhorsesue   February 27th, 2013 9:11p.m.

YES! It worked for me, after I remembered I had to go into my phone settings to allow non-googleplay apps to download. Cheers!
