Chinesepod no longer working?

Bohan   October 9th, 2012 10:11a.m.

I haven't been able to get on Chinesepod in over a week. All the other sites I go to work as soon as I get online. I don't use a proxy or anything

lechuan   October 9th, 2012 11:06a.m.

I can access chinesepod.com with no problem

Bohan   October 9th, 2012 10:31p.m.

are you using the Internet in Canada or China? It might be blocked in China, as there have been times in the past when it was blocked but never for this long

lechuan   October 10th, 2012 1:47a.m.

I am using it from Canada.

Stuart   October 10th, 2012 6:25a.m.

I'm in China and works fine for me.

learninglife   October 10th, 2012 10:33a.m.

beijing is dead.

马洲屹   October 10th, 2012 2:09p.m.

The report of Beijing's death has been greatly exaggerated...

lechuan   October 10th, 2012 4:32p.m.

That's what Ken said.

learninglife   October 11th, 2012 3:56a.m.

exaggerated?
i just cant open the chinesepod page.
nothing else.

马洲屹   October 11th, 2012 4:47a.m.

Okay it seems my Mark Twain reference was lost on a couple of people...;-). So now I going to be serious:

I can access it through my VPN but not otherwise. So for some reason it is being blocked in China. Though lechuan said that he was using it from Canada and could not access it..weird?!?

junglegirl   October 11th, 2012 7:05a.m.

Actually lechuan said he/she COULD access it.

Bohan   October 12th, 2012 12:53a.m.

I still can't access the page. It's blocked. Apparently there has even been a recent post in the discussion boards of Chinesepod about it being blocked, but I can't read the whole post because I can't access the site

Bohan   October 12th, 2012 12:56a.m.

here is a forum link from a few days ago about people not being able to access the site

CC   October 12th, 2012 10:35a.m.

I got the Chinesepod newsletter which contains the following:

"Chinese Mainland Users of ChinesePod we are aware of the access issues facing the ChinesePod website and are endeavoring to resolve them by the end of this week. We are sorry for the inconvenience. ChinesePod will be back online soon!"

So, they know at least!

Bohan   October 12th, 2012 10:39a.m.

@Stuart. Are you using a proxy or something? Because it seems to be blocked

learninglife   October 12th, 2012 10:41p.m.

chinesepod is back in beijing.
