Hi Daxia, I posted this in your other thread, but I thought it might get buried, and other people may be interested in doing this.
First off, you're right there is no easy way to study characters only in Skritter.
But if you know a bit about Excel, you can make a single character list in about 10 minutes:
1) Export my words
2) Copy and paste in excel.
3) Delete the columns with pinyin & definition. You only want characters.
4) Highlight the column with the characters
5) Go to Data > "Text to Columns"
6) Select fixed width
7) Click each hashmark to create a breakline. If your longest "word" in Skritter has 10 characters, you will need to make 9 breaklines.
8) Select "Finish"
Each individual character will now be in it's own cell. For example, instead of 你好 in one cell, 你 and 好 will be separated.
Now you just need to do a bit of formatting: I tend to sort A->Z each column, so that all of the characters are at the top of the screen (make sure you select "Continue with the current selection" when you do this).
Now you need to copy & paste all of the columns into one column. And finally, delete the duplicates (Select the Column -> Data -> Remove Duplicates)
You will be left with a single column that has all of your individual characters. At this point, you can make a "Single Character list", by copying and pasting from Excel into Skritter. There is a 200 word limit for each list section, so you will have to copy and paste by groups of 200.
Next time you want to just study single characters, go to "Vocabulary Lists > Made By Me > Single Character List", and click the green study button. You will now only study these individual characters, and not the multiple character words in your "My Words" list.
Like I said, it's not as simple as if Skritter had this feature. But if you're comfortable with Excel, it will only take you 10 minutes to do this.
