Question about reviews

戴德辉   September 1st, 2012 4:43p.m.

I was wondering, why do my reviews go up as the day progresses? That is, this morning I had near 100 reviews, but now (4:40 PM) it's over 200 (I have not Skrittere'd yet today) . I also have reviews increase after I clear them all out.

Thanks in advance!

That's how the scheduling algorithm of Skritter works.

Say you study a word today at 3p.m. and get it right. Then the algorithm will maybe calculate, that you should review this word in say 24 hours because that is the time you are likely to almost forget this word again. So the word is scheduled for review tomorrow at 3 pm. If you use Skritter before 3pm that day, the word wouldn't show up in the items due count since it's not due then.

Anki schedules a little bit differently and marks all items that are due the current day already in the morning of that day.
