Banned words

Was looking at this archived thread (http://www.skritter.com/forum/topic?id=131047457) and it didn't clarify my question so here goes. If I ban a character is it banned from all 4 areas (writing, tone, pinyin and definition). I only use 2 of these (writing and reading) and I only want to ban characters I know from "reading" and keep them for writing unless I know them like the back of my hand.

So for example, I banned 介绍 when the definition came up but I still want to be able to write it. Any way around this.

Yes. Click on the word to get the word popup, click on the ban/unban, and toggle just the banned parts that you want.

Aha, now I see. Thanks a million Nick.

Would be much better (in my opinion) if this could be done in the screen where you can see all the words for each chapter. Just more convenient.
