Resources to find language partners?

polarizing   October 13th, 2014 9:24p.m.

I know the typical language exchange sites and services (ie QQ, sharedtalk, HelloTalk, skype, lang-8, YY, italki), but was wondering if there are any others that people know of that might be beneficial for practicing conversational Chinese?

I find that the words I learn in Skritter often fall into passive vocabulary and am looking for ways to remedy that.

Some cities (eg. Stockholm at least) have language exchanges on Meetup.com. If there isn't one, you could try starting one for getting some practice.

I went with paying a tutor on QQ on a weekly basis, and that is helping with conversation practice. Makes scheduling easier and having the same tutor for a long time helps with getting to more interesting topics. That said, I'd still rate myself as intermediate, so conversation is still a challenge.
