Looks like the Great Firewall or something like it is preventing you from completely loading www.skritter.com because it is hosted on Google App Engine, which is periodically blocked. Try instead our mirror:

legacy.skritter.cn

This might also be caused by an internet filter, such as SafeEyes. If you have such a filter installed, try adding appspot.com to the list of allowed domains.

I saw these messages as well. Unfortunately it stopped me from creating my own vocabulary list :-(

Same here. Queue is extra laggy today.

Yes, it's been happening for two weeks since an App Engine maintenance, but it's gotten a lot worse today (happened very frequently for three hours starting at 2:42 pm Eastern time). Other App Engine devs are reporting the problem as well, so hopefully we'll get a resolution from Google soon.

Until then, there's not much we can do, since the errors happen before we can even throw up a nicer error page. But it shouldn't affect things if you just reload the page. The Queue and custom list builder can get unusable, though, if enough requests error out like this (instead of using our nicer error/timeout handling). We might be able to improve that error handling.

Sorry, guys. We've just moved to what should be a better intermediary host between you and App Engine, but you can't tell the difference yet with all these errors (and other requests getting slowed down by the errors). Very frustrating! Hope to get this fixed as soon as we can.
