Feature Request & Bug Report

YueMeigui   November 1st, 2011 10:12a.m.

Is there any way for Skritter to remember that the settings (such as volume) that I have on my mobile phone are _different_ and should remain different from the settings I have on my laptop.

I've got to turn the volume way way up to be able to hear what's being said through my phone's speakers which means that as soon as I switch the laptop the first character is SHOUTED at me so loud everyone else in the room can hear it (and some people in other rooms).

...

Second, during character animation on my phone the animation regularly freezes. Just resizing the window will fix the problem but it's super super annoying.

I've now got Skritter set to tablet=no and things are mostly alright but that's a biggie that didn't used to happen hardly at all and now happens at least every third character.

I will put the sound preference on my to-do list.

I've defaulted to turning tablet=false, so that shouldn't make any difference right now. (Sorry for the confusing soup of temporary Android workarounds.)

I tried extensively to figure out what was going on with the bug where rendering just stops, but with no luck; it was supposed to be fixed in Flash Player 11. I've had another idea, though.

Try changing the wmode parameter on the beta site from among these five options:

http://beta.skritter.cn/study/all?wmode=gpu (your current default)
http://beta.skritter.cn/study/all?wmode=direct
http://beta.skritter.cn/study/all?wmode=opaque
http://beta.skritter.cn/study/all?wmode=transparent
http://beta.skritter.cn/study/all?wmode=window

Most interested in the first three. Does the cessation-of-rendering bug happen regardless of wmode?

= didn't change anything
freezing once every third or fourth character

= direct
better but still freezing every so often

= opaque
freezing every character

Huh; that's weird. I'll change the default to direct, although I can't tell why the bug would still be around but reduced in the other window modes.
