missing parts

YueMeigui   December 5th, 2011 1:42a.m.

I have some words where I'm only studying two or three parts of the word.

富有 and 迈克尔杰克逊 being two that I've noticed which have been on my active lists more than long enough to have had all four parts added.

It used to be if I noticed I was missing a part, I'd just go into "my words" and click on the green plus sign next to whatever part wasn't being studied. Only, I can't figure out how to do that anymore...

Help.

To keep a part or two from being studied, click the red ban button in the word popup, or the ban button when studying (it's next to the star, speaker and magnifying glass). Then unclick the parts you don't want to ban, leaving the rows you want to ban red. This will prevent those parts from being studied or added from that point forward, unless you unban them.

Scott, I think YueMeigui wants to do the exact opposite.
It happened to me to for some reason I found that the word 别的 that I learned ages ago was not added for writing.
In the old system I could now just simply click on the green + button, that part would be added to the queue.

What should we do about this kind of thing now? The way I understand it, now the system should notice the missing part automatically and somehow go back and add it (after the rest of the list is finished, I think.)
But this works a bit slowly and, to be honest, the couple times I added something to a finished list it did not start adding automatically again, as it supposedly should.
So I'm not sure if this would work better or not.

Oh, yes I misread that.

I think that those may not have been added before in the old system; they should be all added if you went through the whole list in the new system without changing what parts you're studying. So to make sure a list has absolutely everything added, you'll probably want to reset it from the beginning and have it go through one last time, by setting the list settings to add from the section you want to start at. This should go faster than before because when the system can, it moves the list forward past words you've already added in the background, rather than only checking when you're studying. So if you set it to the beginning and it has some sections to read through, you can actually refresh the page and watch it go forward until it hits the next item to add.

The other option is to add the word to the Misc list and have it added to your studies from there.
