Looks like the Great Firewall or something like it is preventing you from completely loading www.skritter.com because it is hosted on Google App Engine, which is periodically blocked. Try instead our mirror:

legacy.skritter.cn

This might also be caused by an internet filter, such as SafeEyes. If you have such a filter installed, try adding appspot.com to the list of allowed domains.

voluteer for a week or two

how hard is it to work as a volunteer in China? is it easy to get volunteer jobs in orphanage, elderly house, disabled, hospitals, ..etc? i need to plan a visit around April/May and would like to immerse more with the local people and help

Easy to get once you know the places to go but probably really hard to find if you don't have any connections because these types of places aren't likely to have a strong web presence.

I'm sure that's a great way to improve your Chinese but I think you would need to arrange that once you are in china, you can try out a few websites that can get you a volunteer program but normally you would pay a fee, probably working as a teacher in rural towns or something like that.

PD. most of those sites are from England so fees are in pounds, definitely not a good idea to pay if you are volunteering
