Is there a way to hide the kanji for certain words?

I am going through Genki I and there are some words vocabulary words that don't have kanji but skitter gives the words kanji. For example いい is in the book for "good" but skritter is prompting me with 良い which isn't anywhere in the text book, even next to the terms where they normally write the kanji for new words even if the kanji wasn't taught yet.

It looks like you've figured out how to disable writings for certain words in lists, but if you'd like to study just いい alone, you could pull up the quick word add (which can be accessed by pressing Shift+A anywhere on the page), and then adding the entry for it without kanji.

How do you quick add in the app for an iPad?

You can quick add in the app by first going to the Lists area, selecting the list's name, then clicking "quick add" in the list options.
