Looks like the Great Firewall or something like it is preventing you from completely loading www.skritter.com because it is hosted on Google App Engine, which is periodically blocked. Try instead our mirror:

legacy.skritter.cn

This might also be caused by an internet filter, such as SafeEyes. If you have such a filter installed, try adding appspot.com to the list of allowed domains.

Characters in words

hi, can someone please clearly explain what the characters in words option means?
I've completed a few lists now and have just added the 3000 most common characters list. However it's annoying to see characters without a green light in there like 现 when I've studied 现在 a million times.. Would this be different if I had of selected characters in words a while ago? Thanks Emma!

Right! With the 'Also Add Characters When Adding Words' enabled, it will add the single characters from any words you are studying as well as the word. As an example, if you studied the word 你好, with this box checked, you would now be studying the word 你好, the character 你, and the character 好.

Not immediately, but yes with the option on it will also add those single character reviews, so eventually your total reviews due each day would be more than it was if you were only studying those words.
