New forum design

So it turns out that the giant rearchitecturization yet grows and grows. We have actually finished more of it than we originally had planned to do in one chunk, and there's a lot of really cool stuff waiting to go. But it turns out that before we can put all the new stuff up, we have to finish even more of the updates that we had planned to do. Specifically, it looks like I'm going to have to disambiguate all the traditional variant characters in all of our vocab lists before we can use any of the new data architecture. Bleargh!

So how long does that take? I have no idea. All of the Flash is rewritten and basically working (sans ignore and strictness, and avec some cool features), many of the bugs you guys have been hitting have been fixed (and replaced with new bugs), most of the pages on the site have been redesigned and trained in the killing arts, and Scott even did timezone support while he was waiting for me. But, sorry bros and girls, I am yet slower than expected, and traditional character variants must be entrusted with just as much of the blame!

Since it's yet going to be a while, I took the time to extract the new forums from their surrounding code goo. You can at least enjoy this little bit of Scott & George's bold redesignery. Some notes:

* Private emailing is still not turned on (we'll get to it).
* Nor is timezone support (it's ready, though).
* Display name changes won't yet take effect retroactively.
* The archive time (one month) was way too short. It's now four months. So go ahead and post what vocab lists you'd like to see and make your introductions on those threads. Sorry about that!
* Search works.
* Replies now post from the topic page, so you can see what you're replying to.
* It looks better. (At heart, this is a primarily aesthetic change.)

What do you guys think? Any bugs you see, style decisions you liked better the old way, glowing praises of admiration for S&G's brilliance?

Oh, yeah: you may need to clear your cache if everything on the forum looks wonky. (In Firefox/Chrome, that's Ctrl-F5 to refresh without cache).

I just discovered this site a few hours ago and am already totally blown away!

Some kind of "next thread" link would be nice in the forum, though! :-)
