Skritter on Uservoice ?

Tortue   February 7th, 2009 12:48p.m.

Hello Skritter Team

I think it would be interesting for you but also for us (the users) if you could use services such as Uservoices (or anything else) to reports new features and vote for the other one !

I think the suggestions would be more clear to everyone (and it will avoid repetitions)

Hey Tortue, we're actually going to be implementing our own poll widget to go on the homepage that will let people vote and discuss features and suggestions.

We tried a widget from GetSatisfaction that was also intended to streamline customer service, feedback, and user suggestions, but people didn't like it, so we took it down and just kept the suggestion box you see on the practice page.

You're spot on though about us needing to make it easier for users to tell us what they think, we're just sorry it's taking so long to get the rearchitecting complete.

Woah, it looks like uservoice can get pretty expensive. The only problem I had with the getsatisfaction was that I had to log in and everything, and for posting a simple question or request, I had to fill in a lot of other blanks too. A bit over the top in my opinion, but the issue was mostly the widget. I wouldn't mind using it if I only had to go to the site (it's easier to send what you want rather than repeat info every time in the widget). I think I liked using uservoice better, but I didn't know companies had to pay for it. I guess it makes sense.

The getsatisfaction page is actually still up. Maybe we could use it anyway...? I just think the feedback page should stay the way it is and not post to GS, which is what you guys implemented before. I think it would also cut down on your emails if you centrally-located them all somewhere :P I would use GS more if it wasn't in place of the feedback link, but as a general bug/feature list thing. This forum then can have more Chinese-related goodies instead of bugs and stuff.

For things like feature requests and discussion, I'd rather it happen here on our forum than over on a Get Satisfaction or UserVoice page. We are not so huge that it's hard to keep track of who has said what, and it's nice keeping things in the family, as it were.

As far as bugs go, most of them have been coming in through the comment box on the practice page. It'd be good to get those resolved publicly, but it's also a lot less convenient for you guys to have to go to an external site and make a new post. So if you feel up to it, go ahead and put bugs on Get Satisfaction, or you can just keep putting them in the comment box.
