Is 告辞 a word?

donm   December 17th, 2014 2:58p.m.

Hello,

I have come across this word 告辞, meaning to "take leave" or "ask to leave". But is it really a word? Pleco recognizes it as a verb-object. My wife says that it is incomplete. Skritter does not recognize it.

Thanks,

Skritter does have it. Baidu has a page on it too: http://baike.baidu.com/view/248428.htm

Oh... my apologies. I entered the character using the iPhone Chinese handwriting input method and it recognized the character as 吿 (gao4) instead of 告 (also gao4, but there is a very minor difference in the character).

Thanks!
