Today's android update

Arcanis   November 6th, 2014 2:11a.m.

I'm using skritter on my tablet (Google Nexus 2013).

Positive first.

Thank you for one of the previous update. I'm not getting overflooded with repetitions now, so the retention rate is fine.

Really liked last update with its italics font.

Negative then.

Downloaded today's update and I'm really disappointed with it.

Firstly, italics font I liked is gone. I'm missing it. Not a big deal, though, but it was really nice.

Secondly, the kanjis now jump up and down between question and answer. It's really annoying. Please, leave it at the same place. In center, particularly.

And lastly. The buttons got smaller. They were perfect size. I've got lots of space on my tablet and those buttons are really small somewhere at the bottom.

All in all, the app is great, but can you get those things back, please? That would be great.

Thanks for your attention.

Hey Arcanis, thanks for your feedback regarding the latest update. I think I can manage to put the italics back into the question on definition and reading prompts. Unless there is an outcry of support against it.

It looks I didn't spend enough time testing how updating our template affected the sizing on larger tablets. I'll get that cleaned up in the next build as well as lock in the positioning of kanji (and hanzi) so they don't jump around.

I really liked the italics too. It makes it clear in an unobtrusive way that these are instructions, not something to learn.

Agree with the anti-jumping :-D

Don't mind the button sizes on my small-ish tablet.

Not a fan of the white background for the answer.

I think there's a discrepancy between the numbers of due items. I got to zero on the app, but according to the browser there are 50 items due for review. I can't check which words are due on the browser because Flash isn't supported on my tablet and I don't have access to a PC at the moment.
