Seeing other words that use 'x' character

danhonda   February 4th, 2014 11:20a.m.

Would it be possible to add a menu/option so that when I'm studying a word/character I can click it to see what other words use said character? For example if I am writing "交通" and I think to myself "hmm that 交 looks familiar" but I can't remember what other words I've seen it in.

So if I click on the character 交 it takes me to another screen that has a list of words (preferably with priority given to words I've already studied) that contains the character 交. I know this feature would actually be HUGELY helpful to me in my studies as I often forget which characters go in which words due to so many similar sounds in Chinese.

Anyways, please make this happen! I can't be the only one who would like this!

Do you use the web version or the iOS version mostly? This is actually possible on the web by clicking the magnifying glass when studying which pulls up an information screen, there's a section on the right hand side labeled "word containing X", showing which you've studied and which you can add by clicking the plus mark next to the word.

On iOS this works if you just pull up info on the word, then launch it to Pleco.

Pleco then has a mode where you see all the entries that incorporate whatever you looked up. Can browse to your hearts content.

I do this all the time. Works awesome. No need to reinvent the wheel.

I think Nick has already said this feature (online lookup box as per web version) will come to ios app eventually, in meantime agree download pleco, I use it daily like snowcreature (plus pleco will work offline)
