Font sizes

I could be wrong, but I think the main idea behind the pages being this size is so they can be universally used on all sizes of screen - including smartphones.

I got from this forum an advise to maximize the work area by using Control + (plus-sign)and this works fine combined with a bigger than laptop PC monitor. Also using F11 for using all the height available. Works for me.

That's probably your best bet, following StEskil's advice. Zoom into the page until the practice area fills the screen. Does that make the font large enough? We tried to make screen zooming play nice with the flash to make sure people could do this.

Yes, the screen size is to make sure our site fits in most devices, large and small, and it takes less time to build and maintain than a fluid layout that fills the screen based on its size. The study page is very dense, so we don't want to increase the size of things or add too many new things unless it's truly important. Hopefully the zooming will be what you want, though!
