Can't wait for the Japanese!

New user here!

I was introduced to this site from my friend; I took a year off from Chinese to study abroad in Japan and now I'm in second year Chinese and I can barely recognize the pinyin let alone convert to simplified! This site is so great, I will definitely use this to catch my Hanzi up to date with my Kanji :D

On that note, I can't wait to be able to practice Japanese here in order to re-enforce the readings of the characters in each language and not have them get mixed up in class or rely on just one language for the meaning. Will definitely load up the Japanese lists :D

Hey oxoboxo (is oxoboxo like bopomofo by chance? the two words remind me of one another for some reason), glad to hear that you like Skritter!

You can actually practice Kanji right now by going to your account preferences page and changing your language type to Japanese.

We've done a poor job of promoting Japanese and making it clear that the site support both languages, so hopefully we can gradually remove the confusion.

I have tried a little Japanese too but I am always afraid that the data saved about my Chinese practise are lost if I change to Japanese. Could you please confirm if the information about the selected vocabulary lists and the progress are saved for both, Chinese and Japanese, no matter which language we decide to practise at any moment?
Thanks!

Yes, they are saved for both. I have been using Skritter to practise Hanzi and Kanji for the last month.

oxoboxo was just a palindrome I liked!

Anyways, I'm practicing both now and it's going smoothly, thanks!
