Disable Example Sentences

aglindstrom   October 7th, 2014 10:36p.m.

How do I disable example sentences?

I just want to learn to write individual characters. I find the sentences a distraction and, when I don't know all the other characters in the sentence, it doesn't help me at all.

Thanks in advance.

Anders.

Actually, dont' worry. I've realized the problem. It's because I had pinyin and defintion hidden that I couldn't work out what to write. Now that I've enabled them again it all makes sense.

If they are poor, make some good ones. The poor ones were probably created by people still learning.

On the iOS app, example sentences are now disabled by default; if you don't want to see them, you can make sure that the setting is toggled to off, then clear local data and redownload all the words without sentences.

We haven't yet added this option to the Flash version; not sure what its status is on the Android/HTML5 app.
