ChinesePod + Textbooks : Full versus "core" vocab.

Doug (松俊江)   June 7th, 2009 2:59p.m.

I was wondering if there might be an option to split ChinesePod/textbook lessons into two lists, a "core" list and a "supplemental" or "extra" list?

I'm using ChinesePod and I've added some chapters of a text book from a course I took a few years back but both have "extra" vocabulary that I don't particularly want to learn to write right away.

I agree with _2shanghai.
When I add a ChinesePod lesson vocabulary list to skritter I normally want to add only the Key Vocabulary and not the Supplementary Vocabulary, since normally only the Key Vocabulary is used in the dialogue and in the podcast.
At the moment I don't use the control bar to add a ChinesePod lesson list but I use the list browser and I add only the words that belong to the Key Vocabulary.

I think it should be good to separate the management of Key and Supplementary vocabularies.

I can set that up. I'm going to be reworking the ChinesePod list system after I rework the list system in general (for the up and coming custom list builder) and then I'll make sure the lists get two sections, Key Vocabulary and Supplemental. and you'll be able to skip either of the sections like with any other list. How does that sound?

Hi scott,
I think in that way it will be ok.
