Good Chinese writing software for Iphone keyboard?

安勇氣   April 30th, 2014 7:46p.m.

Hi all!

Please accept my apology for spamming the forums!

Does anyone use or know of a keyboard software that allows the user to write Chinese characters? I used google keyboard on my old Android, and it worked like a pirate ship on smooth waters, but my Iphone writing pad is rough at best (and sometimes it had trouble recognizing the proper characters when I write). Anybody use anything different? I think a writing keyboard would be wonderful practise, but it needs to be somewhat efficient....

Let me know!

Here are some instructions I grabbed:

iPhone / iPod Touch has built-in support for Traditional and Simplified Chinese handwriting recognition. To enable this function, please follow the steps below:

・Open “Settings”
・Go to “General” > “Keyboards” > “International Keyboards”.
・Scroll to the bottom of the list. Chinese keyboards are listed at the bottom of the list.
・Tap “Chinese (Traditional)” or “Chinese (Simplified)”.
・Switch on “Handwriting”.
・There is an extra Earth button which allow you to change the keyboard layout to other languages.

Thanks! These settings I have already implemented onto my Iphone, but I find the writing to be poor at best. I miss my old droid's google keyboard for writing Chinese-- it was so fluid, and sexy hahaha

I'd be curious to see what others are using as well. I'm just on the stock iOS keyboard and think it's so-so at best. Even after using it for a month or so as my primary mode of input for Chinese, it still was never to the point that I wanted it to be.

foreign learners are too small a market for apple to care about :( - ios7 made input nice for chinese - try squashing your characters when writing - is probably a spatial issue, usually is for me. I stick with pinyin input mostly.

by "chinese" I meant native chinese writers
