Scratchpad/Cram drag and drop word reordering

I'm asking this in the poll as well. If you marked "No, please keep it", please let me know why. Specifically, how do you normally use that feature?

I'm asking because I think I can make it go a lot faster (and thus be able to include many more words at a time) if I get rid of the reordering drag and drop. You would still be able to use the new back button to go to a previous word, and you'd still be able to click on any word in the river to skip to it. If you could still do those things, do you still want to preserve the drag and drop?

i use it in cram lists to either pair, or decouple, words of similarity that i'm having trouble differentiating, or that i'm associating too heavily to each other.

so, lets make up some basic examples.

lets say 叮 and 可 are in a list but separated, and that i'm having trouble from cross-associating them. i can put them back to back in the queue to force a focused study of the differences.

or maybe 凹 and 凸 are back to back. and the sequencing is causing me to associate the order too heavily with the meanings. so i may separate them (without wanting to shuffle an otherwise organized list).

HOWEVER, despite having uses, it's a feature that, if it didn't exist already, i don't think i would ever bother to ask for it. so if you can make a net-positive design trade by getting rid of it, i think that's fine.

long term, big picture, it's surely less than +1% of a boost to learning rate.

the only vital features for me are skip to word and shuffle.

Oooh, that is a good use case. Hmm.

Others?

I was gonna say the same reason as above. That is one very good use.

There's another use as well: when I have a series of words (i.e. days of the week: 星期一, 星期二, etc.), it's nice to be able to separate them a bit. That way I'm still working on the vocab and the character practice without having the advantage of having just done that.

Well, I've figured it out and got drag and drop working on the new scratchpad. I've fixed and added a bunch of other stuff, too, and it should be able to handle a lot more words. I think we'll put it up after the new prompt interface stuff is ready, though.
