I think there is a bug with adding words.

On 6/8/12, I added 输在起跑线上 from my Chinese Pod list. *Just now* I got the writing portion - there is a note to the bottom left that says "new writing".

It has never taken that slow before to add a word. Since 6/8/12 I've studied the definition and the tones of 输在起跑线上. Why did it take 2 1/2 weeks to add the writing prompt?

I also think something is wrong with adding new words... Though I experience a different problem:
My added characters today are negative!

After manually adding ten new words and getting a message that words have been added, today's statistic shows 'added character writings -5'.

How can this work?

@atdlouis: was this with the app or the site? If it was the site, we may not have had one of the characters available, but looking at the data that doesn't seem to be true. If it's the app, for some reason the data may not have gotten all there. I've got some fixes and diagnostic tools going out for 1.0.3 that might help there.

@穆安: That sounds like you got some corrupt progress. Was this while using the app or the site? I recommend turning on beta testing, going to the progress page, clicking 'totals' and recalculate your progress to make sure it's 100% accurate.

When I add words I:

1) Use the website to change a list's status from "review words" to "Add words" (clicking on the 'restart adding' button on the main study page).

2) Open the app. Add a bunch of words at one time.

Because the website doesn't add fast enough, I go a few steps further...

3) Use the website to open a list's section that I'm adding from. Study that list only, until all of the words that I just added have been reviewed and are in my normal Study rotation.

4) Close the website. Do further studying with app.

Oh yeah, and I don't think I answered your question. This was with the app. I am getting a lot of delayed prompts like this - once in a while while I'm studying it will say "new tone added!" or "new definition added!" with a prompt from a word that I added weeks ago.

As you can see, the oldest word (尚未) was added over 3 weeks ago. I'm not sure why I am just *now* getting the tone prompt for it.
