app problem when using Pleco

Jupiter C   September 23rd, 2012 5:40a.m.

Hi,
Ive been having an issue using both Skritter for Chinese and Japanese installed on my iPad 2.

When using the Chinese app, if I switch to the Pleco dictionary within the app, then press the "return to skritter" bar in Pleco, it doesnt return to the Chinese app. Instead, the Japanese app opens.

has anyone else experienced this issue?

I use both as well but on 1:th gen and never had anything like that. Same on my ipods/phone. Have you the latest versions of skritter/Pleco?

yes i do, but I'm still using IOS 5.1

I only have this issue with my iPad2, no problems with my iPhone.

don't really want to update to 6 since my ipad is jailbroken - dont want to do without the excellent
Chinese keyboard available for jailbroken ipads

I only study Chinese so haven't had this problem. However, the app does often crash when I return to Skritter from Pleco. I've only recently started using the built-in Pleco feature regularly, so this is a new problem for me.

Ah, I see why this would be happening. I've fixed it for the next version of the Japanese app.

If you don't want to wait, you could either return to Skritter via the built-in iOS multitasking features, or you could try installing the Chinese / Japanese apps in a different order. (Both are registering the same callback, and it might be that whichever was installed first or last is the one that gets it.)

thanks for the tip!

I'll use the built-in IOS multitasking for now.

this only started happening after I installed the
Japanese app - never had any other issues with
the Chinese app before.

thanks again for the help!
