Skritter perl module: skritter.pm

Bodin   January 8th, 2009 10:48a.m.

I needed exportation of the characters trained and in the ideal world it should be able to be automated.

I hacked this into a simple perl module that could be reused by others; right now it just logs in and fetches the char stats and progress. Further versions will include methods that produce various XML formats. (On the top of my list is jMemorize and Plecodict 2.0).

The module can be downloaded here:

Please comment and suggest improvements in this forum thread or via mail (to be found in the module).

That's great. Thanks! I've been wanting to export, as I think that other methods of memorisation used alongside Skritter make it much more powerful.I'll give it a spin.

Hi,

Dumb perl newbie question. I'm not entirely sure how to use this script. I've got perl installed on my ubuntu box, but not sure what to do now. Running from the terminal

perl skritter.pm doesn't do much
perl -w skritter.pm gives the following warnings:

Useless use of a constant in void context at skritter.pm line 72.
Useless use of a constant in void context at skritter.pm line 87.

I'm way out of my depth here, but if you have a couple of pointers, that might help.

Thanks again,

Will

Oh, it is just a module. It is supposed to be reused in other Perl scripts.

I've put up two example scripts now; one that exports to a file that can be imported into Anki, and one just to extract one of the google charts that shows your progress.

Aha! That makes sense!
Thanks,

This is really cool; thanks, Magnus!

We'll probably slightly break this when we upload the new architecturization (likely next week), but it should be simple to adapt.

We do have plans for easy data export, but they're still only medium priority. It shouldn't be too hard to do, though. Some day, not too far from this one, your Skritter data really will be _your_ Skritter data.
