Number of lists

Is there a way to see all your lists? I have added many lists from Chinesepod but can only see a few of them on the list page. I need to go to some of them to remove words tha I do not like to study. It would be nice to be able to scroll the list of study lists. When using Chinese pod it easely gets a high number of lists.

We're currently working on yet another restructuring of the vocabulary list organization, and one of the things we'll be adding is the ability to browse lists in the order you have last added from them, even if you're done adding from them. This isn't going to be up in the immediate future, but it's on our list of things to do. We didn't have this problem when there were just a few textbooks to choose from but with the ChinesePod lists and custom lists, this is something we'll be working on.

This is now a serious issue IMO. With more than 1.000 new lists from ChinesePod lessons it is a real problem. I try to understand this. I thought it would be a good idea to add all the lessons I had already studied over on the chinesepod.com website. After adding about 20 I wanted to have a look and discovered that the view was limited to 10. At least I hope it is only the view and the the other lists are still there, but not visible. How does it work then? Will the program add from all lists, even those that are not visible? Will list that are finished disappear so that eventually I can bring this back under control? What about editing? I really want to remove some things. How can I access it? Is there a workaround?

The list of lists on the practice page only shows the top ten, it's true, and those are the only ones that are added from as well. As you finish a list, the next one starts being added from.

As for editing, you do need to go to the list the word is from to delete it right now. You go to the list to select the words you want to stop studying and click the delete button.

I'll up the priority of doing this; it still may be a bit though. We've simply got so much high priority stuff right now. I bet I can get it in this month, so I'll try.

It is workable right now, but only just. Navigating lists is not the only problem. Also navigating the vocab on which I am working - 20 words/characters - at a time is a real pain. So I hope you can fix all of this and give us a better interface. But for me the real reason why I am here and paying for what you offer is the 'practice' module and the way it serves me up characters at just the right moment to get them from short term memory into long term memory. I like the way I can practice here and I do get the results I am after. - Marc

Are you talking about the vocab viewer? Is the problem just that 20 words/characters at a time is too little? We could try and increase the amount, though there is an upper bound in terms of how much our servers can handle at a time. It sounds like you use the viewer a lot; is there a particular reason?

We're all about making a better interface. It's very hard to make an intuitive interface, we've found, but we're going to keep trying until we get something that people can easily understand. I'm actually working on improving the interface on a number of places on the site, especially the vocabulary related pages. I'll be interested to know what you think of the stuff I'll be uploading soon.
