Daily Reviews

Is there a way to do reviews for a day early?

For example, I did all of my studying yesterday late at night, but want to do my studying today in the morning. It doesn't look like my reviews from yesterday will be available until later tonight. Can I force them to show up earlier, so I don't get a review mountain tomorrow?

You can always over study which will lighten the load of reviews in the future. However, you can't directly add to the reviews due today from the ones due tomorrow.

For example, if you have a trip you can get your reviews down to 0 and then over study for several hours for a few days. This can greatly lower your daily work load.

I don't want to add reviews due tomorrow to reviews due today -- rather, I want to add reviews due later today to reviews due now.

The more you study, the less pressing your reviews are. So whatever you study tends to be the item that is most in need of reviewing. Once you've finished studying words that are due, you start studying words that are not ready for review, but are almost due, assuming you have no more words to add. You can see where you are on this spectrum by taking a look in the prompt area where it tells you how due the current prompt is, what percentage due it is.

So, to study ahead, turn off adding of new words, then study any list or all your lists together for as far ahead as you want to study.

So am I right in thinking that the 'reviews due' number is everything that's over 100% due now - so if you study beyond that, you're doing the things that are 99%, 98%, etc due - i.e. things that would be 100% later on in the day.

I've stopped focusing on getting all my reviews done when I study. Instead, I think it's more productive to aim to study for a certain amount of time (e.g. an hour a day, or as much as you can do in between classes, or whatever). Skritter takes care of figuring out which words you need to study, so I only worry about trying to remember the ones Skritter asks me to remember.

Yeah, exactly what GrandPoohBlah said.
