skritter works nicely in windows 8 consumer preview

Works nicely in windows 8 consumer preview(free download)

But only if you use internet explorer via the desktop.

Internet explorer won't use third party add-ons if you access it directly from the metro interface.

Performance is quite good considering I'm running it in a vm with limited ram on a fairly slow system.

Can post a few screen shots if anyone is interested.

The hot corners in windows 8 are a bit annoying.
left bottom is to go to the metro interface
left top running app
right top brings up a bar with links for search , start(metro), control panel , devices and settings

Other than that, the metro interface and the ribbon interface for folders its sort of similar to windows 7.

Though it does seem a bit like more ios or windows phone 7 than traditional windows

Which will be good for tablets when they will release the ARM version...

I believe the ARM versions will be using the metro-style internet explorer (which wont support flash plugins)

still - a native skritter app wouldn't go amiss :D

That is a bit of a shame. Windows 8 ARM tablets were shown at the end of last year with Flash running. But on the other hand, we will not have to suffer much. There will be iPhones, cheap iPads and slightly more expensive iPad 2s to run the native iOS app. Never been an Apple fanboy but I have to admit that for learning Chinese all the applications we need are available for them. They are also very nice in terms of usability.

I'm hoping to test drive a Galaxy Note 10.1 using Skritter with Samsung's S-pen. The pen is supposed to be fairly nuanced (pressure sensitive) and I've seen good reviews here of the Skritter experience on the Galaxy Note (current handheld version -- 10.1 is the tablet version upgrade from Galaxy Tab.)

iOS also runs on the iPod Touch. A number of features from iOS will also run under OS X Mountain Lion due to be released this summer. It's rumored that Mac OS X and iOS will eventually be merged and released when quad core ARM chips come out.

@约翰 - yup; its not to say that you couldn't just get one of the x86/intel based Windows 8 tablets instead - but I think ipod/ipad for play + windows for work is not a bad combination at all :D
