Looks like the Great Firewall or something like it is preventing you from completely loading www.skritter.com because it is hosted on Google App Engine, which is periodically blocked. Try instead our mirror:

legacy.skritter.cn

This might also be caused by an internet filter, such as SafeEyes. If you have such a filter installed, try adding appspot.com to the list of allowed domains.

Skritter iPhone/iPad beta ipa?

mbarnett91   May 26th, 2012 11:48a.m.

Just got a skritter account recently and I'm loving it so far! I've been using the mobile version of the website on my android phone which is working great... except that I need to be connect to the internet to use it (which is very inconvenient seeing as I'm currently in China without a data plan for my phone).

As I understand it, the iPhone/iPad app that is currently being worked on doesn't require an internet connection to use (maybe only to add new words?) which would be EXTREMELY useful for me, so that I can skritter even if I don't have a wifi connection. I would love to use the beta version of the app (and I've got a jailbroken iPad too,) but I can't seem to find a download for it anywhere!

Any help with this would be AWESOME.

edit: I did some searching and found out about a shared dropbox folder... but that's out of the question for me thanks to the great firewall of china.

You can actually use dropbox in China if you can download it and set it up somewhere else or through a VPN. It can update files through the Great Firewall, you just can't download the installation files otherwise.

Regardless, the app has already been submitted and is just waiting approval from Apple so it shouldn't be much longer!

So I'm back in the states and can access Dropbox now... Who might vb I contract to get access to the shared dropbox folder??

It would be Nick, but my understanding is the app's release on the App Store is fairly imminent! There's a contact link at the bottom of the page...

Yes, we're pretty close. Please wait for the launch. I think you're going to enjoy it!
