ios. Tones

just mark it with your finger: -, /, V or \.

After you draw the tone, then you can tap and hold on the grading button to mark yourself if you want to change your grade. If that's not showing up I guess something's wrong!

You might also have hidden reading mode on, which makes it hide the pinyin for the tone prompts. You can either tap the hidden pinyin bubble to show it, or turn hidden reading mode off.

I don't understand... Sry for my confusion.

How do I know what tone for what character. When does the app ever teach me this. I get to the quiz, but I don't know what to draw for the tones. Can someone explain with a little more detail about tones?

Thanks

The first time you see a new character, you probably won't know what the tone is, so guess one or tap in the middle to show the answer. Then try to remember that tone for the next time you see it.

For me I click the audio button to listen to it if it's a word I've never heard before or if I forget the tone (which is all the time)

I found it really hard to differentiate between tones after listening to them as a beginner, I'm better at it now, but it's still my greatest weakness.
