List Mistake

Hobbes828   May 6th, 2009 12:31a.m.

I could be wrong... but I am studying/reviewing my book (Short-term Spoken Chinese: Elementary), and while trying to find the list observed the following:

The lists and books are backwards... in other words... list 1 is actually my book (Elementary), and list 2 is actually from the first two books (Threshold 1 and 2).

The descriptions are also for the wrong ones. In other words, threshold is one level of 30 lessons split into 2 books (上 and 下), which corresponds to list 2 right now. My book is Elementary which is the next 25 lessons in one book.

I think you list Elementary as Pre-Intermediate, which I believe is actually the book after mine, and there is not list for that one.

Hope that was intelligible and possibly helpful. I guess this means there aren't a lot of people out there using these books/lists so it isn't too big of a deal :)

p.s. you can see photos and a review of the first two books (threshold) here: http://www.snigel.nu/?p=774

This fairly negative review is from the author of these lists (not me). In case anyone cares. haha.

Oops! Got that pretty backwards. I have fixed it up. Thanks for all the info.

We do have lists put up that only one person is really studying. I study all lists, though, to debug them a bit. And for a while ZachH was adding everything on the site in his insatiable quest to consume all of Chinese.

Yeah, But I've been overwhelmed by hordes of reviews. Who knows how large my pile is?? It could be 10,000 for all I know. This is what I get for taking 2 weeks off!!

Naw, Zach you can see how many you've got now. I pushed a whole bunch back! You've got something like 500 to go through, way better than 1000+. It should be much easier to plow through that backlog there. How do you like the balance now, by the way? You should be studying less well known words more frequently.

It's exam week here and I haven't had much time to Skritter. In the short time I have spent, the items did appear to be pertinent to my learning, rather than just things I needed to click through. So, thanks for that Scott. I think you can assume that if you don't hear more about it, your labor-intensive tweaks are working well.

ZachH, 加油!
