opposite of "save words"

Bohan   December 1st, 2013 4:42p.m.

The "save words" feature is a way to reduce the number of reviews we have so that it's more manageable.
I'd like to suggest a feature that allows us to "review ahead", once the queue has reached zero. I actually have a ton of reviews left for writing and definitions, but I still want to do at least 100 tone reviews. The way it is now, I can keep doing tone reviews, but it's very slow on the web version once the queue has reached zero. The site has to pause and load a lot. So, it would be cool if there were a way for me to force to queue to say "150 items due", but only for a specific study part. Currently we're able to do the opposite of this very easily by going to "save words" and going to settings to choose which study parts we want to manipulate.

I'd say what you want is more a pre-loaded (but randomly selected) learning queue than getting items "due" earlier or "review ahead". The latter would contradict the sense of a spaced repetition system.

I'm not sure if it would contradict the sense of a spaced depiction system, because I have used the "save words " feature about 50 times before and I usually set the time period for a really long time. So, if anything I'm still behind and want to catch-up

Sorry, I read your whole post - except for the first sentence. I assumed you were at the "zero-reviews frontier" ;)

Hmm; it's interesting that it would get slow once you got toward the end of your review queue. Do you have a fast internet connection? (It's probably Skritter's problem not getting tones to you as fast as you need them, but just thought I'd check the most obvious cause of slowness.)

If I were you, I would just stop using "Save Me" and start using the Goal Mode instead.

Bohan   December 1st, 2013 9:43p.m.

hey Nick, the internet connection is fine. I'm not in China anymore, so the internet works well now.

Is the "goal mode" something I would have to set every day? I probably wouldn't use it if I have to set it every day, because that would just be one more thing to do

It's set once until you turn it off. Open it from the bottom of the study nav page to configure: http://www.skritter.com/study
