Hi, I am not sure if there is already a function like this, but when you click on a word for information either while studying or when going through the my words tabs is there a way to compare two characters?

I tend to get zhao(3) 找 and qian(2) 钱 mixed up and other characters which are similar to each other. I was just wondering if there was a way to get the 2 characters up together side-by-side where you can compare them between one and other so you can see that "ah yes qian(2) has the radical for metal in it" which makes sense for money (coins) and zhao(3) doesn't.

Not a big issue, but might be a useful feature to people with similar mind set as me.

I'd love it, but if you check the topic just a few topics below this you might acknowledge that there is currently no innovation to be expected by Skritter. :)

I have also thought a feature like this could be useful, but then I realized I could take it upon myself to keep a notebook and write such stuff down. In Skritter's defense, it can't be all things to all people. I think it's unfair to say we should expect no innovation from Skritter. I think we should expect that it won't do ALL the things we each wish it could do. . . .

you could put the confusing characters in each others "mnemonics" box and other notes to self e.g. in 钱 mnemonics box put "NOTE metal radical means is 钱 money NOT 找 seek"

there's lists out there you can look at too, although I haven't used them so not sure if help (e.g. http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Appendix:Easily_confused_Chinese_characters)

We had talked about having a "similar/often confused with" hanzi/kanji data before, I think this would be an awesome addition.

Plus one for this feature! A think lot of my leeches are probably pairs of words that I confuse.

One quick way to try this out is to use the scratchpad linking:

Then you can cycle between the two (or more), study them, make mnemonics, drill decomps, etc.

A slightly more heavy-weight way to do it would be to make a single-section list with the confused pairs so you could save it and study it by itself. Or you could start starring all the words that you often confuse and then periodically go through all your stars to practice disambiguation.
