Looks like the Great Firewall or something like it is preventing you from completely loading www.skritter.com because it is hosted on Google App Engine, which is periodically blocked. Try instead our mirror:

legacy.skritter.cn

This might also be caused by an internet filter, such as SafeEyes. If you have such a filter installed, try adding appspot.com to the list of allowed domains.

Is there any difference between 西红柿 and 番茄, and in that case what?

Not that I know. Maybe a regional preference, but as far as I know both are universally understood to mean tomato.

My Chinese staff tells me, there is absolutely no difference, also no regional difference. I mainly hear 西红柿, whereas they say, that they use more 番茄 in their daily live.

From my experience 西红柿 is used for in the North where as 番茄。

Well, in my experience of the mainland 西红柿 was mainly said, but 番茄 was more often written in menus...
