Anki

Just curious. Does anyone here still use Anki? If you do why? I haven't used it in sometime and I see that it had a major revamp for iOS, but I am not sure if it is worth my time to look into again. I still love Skritter, just interested in others opinions.

I use it to study reading comprehension and grammar. The front has a Chinese sentence; on the back is the English translation. I choose sentences that have some grammatical feature I need to understand.

I use Anki for non-Chinese study.

I use anki for sentences. I take the sentences with audio from chinese pod.

The front has a chines sentence and the back has english meaning and audio.

I only use sentences whose characters i know. To learn new characters I use skritter.

I figured it would be great if chinese pod could have flash cards for sentences. You can do it in skritter but it wouldn't have the audio.

I consider building the anki cards as a part of my studying. getting the mp3s is quite easy on firefox with cacheviewer fx6 plugin

Fungsousa - hmmmm. I like that idea. I may have to start doing that. My old chinese deck is basically gone. All the audio is gone, the mp3 names are large alpha numeric names. I think I have most of it already in skritter. It would probably be best for me to just start over and the sentences would be good.

Fungsousa, do you know an equivalent of cacheviewer fx6 plugin for IE10 or Chrome? Thanks!

Mendre - how did you lose your deck? Anki saves 20 backups of deck if that was recent, so maybe can recover.

It was an old old version of Anki and that laptop was infected. I have a good copy of the deck but no audio. I would have to go into the deck and rename each audio file. I realize there may be a work around, but at this point I think my Skritter "deck" has most of the "facts" of the old deck and many other new ones.

Almost exclusively.
